EVIE'S HOME!!!

Evie came home on Saturday, November 29th. Her stay in the NICU was a little over three weeks. I remember thinking it would never come to an end and now I can’t believe she’s been home a week already! It all happened so fast. When we left the hospital on Friday the 28th, they still weren’t sure if they were going to send her home on Saturday so we had to call on Saturday morning to get more info. When we called around 11am, the doctor hadn’t made rounds so we still didn’t know if she would get to come home. The nurse called back around 12:45pm and said we could take her home. We said we’d be there at 3:00pm since we had to finish up a few things to make sure everything was ready. We packed up her “coming home” outfit and a few blankets and headed to the hospital. Within a few hours, she was loaded up in her car seat and on her way home. Tim and I are so grateful to the FABULOUS nursing staff that took such good care of our little girl. They even got her on a great schedule- she only wakes up twice a night to eat so we are actually getting some sleep! Even though the whole experience wasn’t easy, we know that Heavenly Father blessed us with special angels in the form of her nurses to take care of her because we weren’t able to. We are so excited to finally have her home! The brown onesie is the same size as what she came home in and the purple shirt is what we had originally bought for her to come home in when we thought we were going to have an 8 lb. baby!

Tim and I put a lot of thought into what car seat to purchase. We decided on the Graco SafeSeat which is supposed to hold a baby up to 30 lbs. Again, we thought we would have a little fatty for a baby. She’s almost too small for the darn thing!
